This year Hedley House by the Sea celebrate 60 years of not being just another place to stay. We’ve been welcoming guests to seaside serenity since 1946. On four acres of landscaped ground, we offer private decks with every room, overlooking a sandy beach on the Bay of Fundy not fifty steps away. An individual seaview deck attaches to every bright, airy room, all wonderfully decorated with ceiling fans and hardwood floors and accompanied by remarkable sunsets and tranquil sea breezes . . . . Come soak up the sunset from your own private ocean deck or stroll along the sandy tidal beach collecting shells and memories as the sea birds soar overhead. At Hedley House, your biggest decision will be whether to read your favorite book, or swing your golf club at one of the area's beautiful golf courses.

We have different kinds of rooms offering different views of the sea.
We have rooms with queen beds, rooms with queen beds with a pull out couch (double bed ) and we have rooms with 2 double beds.

5 of our rooms have BBQ's and a fridge.
8 of our rooms have kitchenette facilities.

All of our rooms have private bathrooms, hardwood floors, cable T.V., ceiling fan, and a private ocean view deck with our sandy beach just below you!!.

There are 4 acres of gardens and a 1200 foot sandy tidal beach. If you're looking for something out of the ordinary, with a touch of class, come stay with us for a night or two -or better yet -a week. We offer comfort, service and modern facilities all carefully blended with the leisure beauty of private decks, barbeques, gardens, sandy beaches and more.

Hedley is minutes from the Bay Ferries and downtown Digby, and a short drive from Historic Annapolis Royal with its fine shopping and dining.

The best whale watching in the Maritimes is right around the corner and the highest tides in the world are literally at your doorstep.

For our business guests, we offer an intimate conference space for 40-50 people. Hardwood floors, oak tables and a spectacular view are included! Just let us know what you will need and we promise we will make every effort to ensure your meeting is productive and enjoyable. In addition we offer a special corporate package complete with breakfast, a light lunch and salmon or steak barbecue or lobster supper in the evening.

A Modified Continental Breakfast of Fresh brewed Columbian coffee, juices, toast, and morning specialties is available daily

Reservations and Cancellation Policy
If you have specific dates in mind, please call us with as much advance notice as possible.
Credit card information will be requested at the time of booking. Your credit card will not be debited until you check out.
If your plans change and you have to cancel your reservation, we ask for 48 hours notice,
otherwise you will be held financially responsible for your room unless we are able to re-sell it.

How to Reach Us

Hedley House is in Smith's Cove Nova Scotia, we have been attracting tourists here since the 1850's…. Our vacation philosophy is "Welcome to Smith's Cove…turn up the quiet"

From Halifax….2 ½ hours by car on highway 101 to exit 24 then about 3 minutes on the coast road # 1

From Digby….From Digby ferry dock, follow the signs to Highway 101 and Halifax (7 minutes). Take exit 25. Hedley House by the Sea is 3 minutes more on Highway 1thru Smith’s Cove.

From Yarmouth: 1 hour and 10 minutes on Highway 101. Take exit 25. Hedley House by the Sea is 3 minutes more on Highway 1 thru Smith’s Cove, on the left.
